Ken is the practice leader of our Insurance practice group and is located in the Philadelphia office.

Ken has over 20 years of experience in accounting and private industry, including 14 years with an international accounting firm. He primarily focuses his practice in the insurance sector where he specializes in property & casualty, life, health/managed care and self insurance. His responsibilities in the audit and accounting group include the coordination of the annual audit, assistance with financial statement preparation, consultation on accounting and reporting matters, and assistance with merger and acquisition activities. Ken also is experienced in all aspects of SEC reporting and filings under both the 1933 and 1934 Acts, communications with the SEC and initial public offerings.

After graduating magna cum laude, he completed Leadership Harrisburg and is dedicated to giving back to his community. Ken serves as board president of The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc. and is active with Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania, United Way of the Capital Region, and Rotary Clubs. He is a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International.

In recognition of his volunteerism, Ken received the 2009 Distinguished Public Service Award from the PICPA and the Service Award in 2011 from Susquehanna University. He was named to the Central Penn Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” list in 2006. Additionally, Ken also serves on the board and conference committee for PICPA and is a member of the AICPA Insurance Expert Panel where he is responsible for editing and reviewing AICPA accounting and audit guides, as well as acting as a “sounding board” for various insurance industry accounting, financial reporting and audit issues.

Ken is a member of ParenteBeard’s internal leadership development program, Leadership, Entrepreneurism and Achievement at ParenteBeard (LEAP). LEAP was developed as a collaboration of firm executives and representatives of The Pennsylvania State University and is a customized program designed to build the core business skills of partners and managers. LEAP is an intensive three-year program designed to provide team members with valuable insight on topics such as strategic leadership and relationship building.
