Donna has been a partner with ParenteBeard LLC for more than five years and is currently the practice leader of the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Group. Her widespread expertise in this area has enabled ParenteBeard to expand this practice, doubling in size over the past three years, and become a leader in the field. In addition to being responsible for the quality of the practice, Donna is also responsible for marketing, business development and directing the education/training of firm team members regarding employee benefit plans. Her leadership has provided a significant contribution to employee benefit plans becoming one of the fastest growing service lines within the firm’s assurance practice.

Donna’s unique experience enables her to provide audit, accounting and regulatory advice, and attest services to our large public and privately held commercial clients primarily in the service related sectors. She has extensive experience in all aspects of accounting, auditing, and tax services with mid-market commercial companies and employee benefit plans. Her additional areas of expertise include the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) 11K filings, Employee Stock Ownership, Defined Contributions, Benefit and Health and Welfare plan auditing.

Donna is responsible for both internal and external education regarding this practice line. She has conducted numerous seminars and is a frequent guest speaker, addressing peers and colleagues on various topics, including the Department of Labor’s regulations, implications of new accounting and auditing pronouncements and 403(b) plans to name a few. She has authored several articles, including “Working Through Benefit-Responsive Investment Contract Guidelines” which was published in both the Pennsylvania CPA Journal, and sumnews, the newsletter of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Donna was one of a select few chosen by a selection committee to participate in ParenteBeard’s internal leadership development program, Leadership, Entrepreneurism and Achievement (LEAP). Participation in this three-year program provides firm leaders with insight on topics such as strategic leadership and relationship building.

Donna is also active in a number of professional associations, including the Executive Women International (EWI) Philadelphia Chapter where she serves as Vice President. She is also a member of the Employee Benefit Plan Committee and the Technical Committee for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and has served as a member of the PICPA’s Accounting and Auditing Policies and Procedures Committee for three years.
