Paula has been involved in a variety of contract, advisory and administrative activities for Presscott Associates since forming the firm in 1989.

Prior to Presscott Associates, she was the partner in charge of the commercial law and finance group at Sorokin, Gross and Hyde, PC, the oldest law firm in Hartford, Connecticut. There she was responsible for managing and closing complex secured and unsecured financial transactions, including structured financing of mergers and acquisitions, asset based lending for healthcare receivables and secured lending to skilled nursing facilities. In addition, she practiced in the areas of general corporate law and computer law. She was involved in mergers and acquisitions, general contract drafting and technology licensing, acquisitions and transfers. Paula’s earlier legal experience was as a corporate attorney at Consolidated Rail Corporation, responsible for negotiating and drafting loan documents, finance leases, software development and licensing agreements, hardware systems acquisitions and international technology transfer agreements and reviewing general corporate documents.

She has served as the chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Computer Law Section of both the Connecticut and Hartford County Bar Associations and has presented papers on various aspects of software and hardware acquisitions and commercial finance law.
