ParenteBeard Partner John Nealon, small business practice leader, offers a few tips to help small businesses prepare for an IRS audit in his article, “Small business advice: How to alleviate audit anxiety,” featured in The Washington Post.

Mr. Nealon makes these key suggestions: map out mileage, be frugal with gift giving, don’t mix business and pleasure, be careful when lending a hand and mind your 1099s.
