Chief Executive Officer

Bob Ciaruffoli is Chief Executive Officer of ParenteBeard LLC, a Top 25 US public accounting firm with 25 offices in six states. As ParenteBeard’s CEO, Bob is responsible for the operations of the $175 million accounting practice, including direction of the firm’s partners and team members. Bob served as Chairman and CEO of Parente Randolph, one of the legacy firms that combined to create ParenteBeard. Under his direction, Parente Randolph experienced rapid and consistent growth and expanded its service offerings to include a variety of advisory and specialty services.

A 33-year veteran of the accounting profession, Bob is an active member of both the state and national accounting industry professional organizations, and serves as a board member for the International Board of Baker Tilly International. He is currently President of Board of the Philadelphia Police Foundation, and a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Union League of Philadelphia. Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1972.

Chief Operating Officer

Jeff serves as Chief Operating Officer with ParenteBeard LLC. He has over 25 years experience in public accounting. As Chief Operating Officer, he oversees ParenteBeard LLC's Accounting, Auditing and Tax Practices. His responsibilities include staffing and scheduling, delivery of client services, billing and collections, client acceptance and retention, compensation, business plans, budgeting, cross selling and performance appraisal systems. His responsibilities have included audits of health care clients, skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, continuing care retirement communities and home health/hospice agencies. Jeff has spoken before many professional and educational groups on the subjects of accounting and auditing. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Walnut Street Theatre, Economy League of Greater Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Arts and Business Council.

Chief Administrative Officer

Jody is Chief Administrative Officer with oversight responsibility for the firm's Human Resources and Marketing and Communications functions. She is located in the York office.

Jody has over 26 years of experience in the Human Resources field. Specifically, Jody spent 14 years operating her own business, Keller Resources, Inc., as a Human Resources Consultant and Trainer. Prior to that, she was Manager of Training for S. Grumbacher & Son for three years and was a Human Services Education Coordinator and Trainer for eight years. Additionally, Jody is currently an adjunct professor at Villanova College and previously served as an adjunct professor at York College.

She is an active leader in the community, serving as past chair for the Penn State-York Campus Advisory Board and York County Chamber of Commerce. Jody serves on the Executive Committee for The American Red Cross and Operations Committee for the Strand Capitol Performing Arts Center. She is past President of the Rotary Club of York and serves both the York Chapter and South Central PA Chapter of The Second Mile. Jody is the Treasurer for Memorial Hospital and member of the board for the York County Community Foundation.

Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer

Bob serves as Treasurer and CFO of the firm with oversight responsibility for internal accounting and tax departments, as well as firm banking relationships and external reporting requirements.

Bob has over 25 years experience in accounting, auditing, tax and management advisory services to healthcare clients. His areas of expertise include audits of acute care and specialty care hospitals, nursing and personal care facilities, continuing care retirement communities, home health/hospice agencies, physicians group practices, behavioral health and various other providers. He is also responsible for several additional areas of the firm’s healthcare practice, including preparation and review of third-party cost reports, financial projections and feasibility studies, corporate restructuring studies, merger transactions and specialty areas of the firm’s healthcare practice.

Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting from the University of Scranton, and he has supplemented his education with a variety of continuing education courses.

Chief Risk Officer

As Chief Risk Officer, Phil is responsible for the firm’s audit and accounting practice, risk management, quality assurance and consults with Partners on technical accounting and audit issues.

Phil possesses a unique blend of practical experience with an in-depth accounting background, and he has worked with a diverse group of commercial clients throughout his long career. He serves as the firm’s primary resource for audit and accounting issues related to manufacturing and in particular, issues related to inventory.

Phil’s background includes a concentration in the manufacturing sector, where he has been involved with numerous mergers and acquisitions and large financial transactions. Prior to entering public accounting, he was involved in a family-owned manufacturing business.

Phil is an active member of the Technical Issues Committee of the Private Companies Practice Section of the AICPA. In this role he interfaces with accounting and auditing standards setters, providing comments and perspectives on the impact of accounting standards on private companies. Phil serves on the board of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, a regionally based, nonprofit public policy organization.

Phil earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting from King's College and a Master of Business Administration from Wilkes University. He is a member of the King’s College McGowan School of Business advisory council.

Chairman

Lamar is the Firm’s Chairman. In addition to his responsibilities as Chairman of the Board, Lamar’s wide ranging role encompasses two primary operational responsibilities - firm ambassador and business development. His external role centers on the promotion of the firm’s vision and mission and communicating ParenteBeard values to our clients and business networks. With his strong focus on external relations, Lamar leads the firm’s business development program and is directly involved in large pursuits and activities that position the firm for growth. He also mentors and coaches our partners in business development activities.

Professional Experience

Lamar has been in the auditing and business consulting field for more than 30 years, including experience with an international accounting firm. He has developed a broad and extensive background in providing auditing and accounting services to a wide variety of organizations primarily in the Financial Services and Manufacturing industries. In addition, Lamar specializes in providing services to community financial institutions and SEC reporting companies. Lamar has conducted seminars within our firm as well as for business and professional groups on a broad range of topics.

Active in the community and professionally, Lamar has served on the advisory board for the Shippensburg University College of Business and as past committee chair for the Annual Statewide Financial Institution Conference and Financial Institutions Committee for PICPA. He served as a member of the National Banking & Savings Institutions Committee and its Regulatory Task Force for AICPA. A member of the Berks Business Executives Forum, Lamar serves on the Berks Economic Partnership Executive Committee and in leadership positions for the Hawk Mountain Council of Boy Scouts of America.
