Recruiting International Students?
ParenteBeard Offers Informational Seminar
As many of our university and college clients look to maintain and increase enrollment levels, investing more heavily in recruitment of international students is high on the agenda. This has been particularly true at public institutions where such efforts have been fueled by shrinking state support.
The number of international students enrolling in American colleges and universities continues to grow at a record breaking pace. However, this growth opportunity does not come without risk. Keeping current with the various rules and regulations surrounding immigration law – along with assorted recruiting and retention issues – can be a full time job for a college administrator.
In June, EducationUSA advisers promoted U.S. higher education to international students, guiding them through the process of choosing a school, preparing an application, financing study in the United States and applying for visas. EducationUSA is a global network of more than 400 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.
The U.S. Department of State and other interested organizations have dedicated a tremendous amount of effort and resources to helping international students capitalize on the benefits offered by American universities and colleges.
ParenteBeard is committed to providing up to date guidance in this area. On September 24, ParenteBeard will host an Immigration Law and Diversity seminar at Misericordia University. Guest speakers will present an overview of immigration systems and discuss how recruiting and maintaining a diverse professional and student academic community can benefit your institution.
